"The half portion is usually more than enough for most, but try the full portion for a real feast!. This is a lovely traditional pub serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at the oldest coaching inn in Keswick."

"01/03/2021: We visited the Copper Pot Cafe twice during our stay in Ambleside, and both times we were treated to a fantastic breakfast.We were able to get a walk in table each time, with only a minor wait.The staff are friendly, and the food was excellent, with generous portions.The only downside is that there's only one toilet, which is accessed externally, which can mean queueing in the rain, however everything else was so good it doesn't warrant knocking off a point."

"03/05/2021: Ate at Es on Friday, the threatened rain never happened so we were able to enjoy lovely food and a few drinks under the canopy. Wall and free standing heaters close by. Menu was slightly smaller but still plenty of choice."

Their monthly Brewery Socials are a great excuse to enjoy a friendly drink and some street food, but any day of the month is ideal for a visit!. "Last visited 2 years ago and will definitely return next time we are in Bowness. 25/05/2021: Only had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated, staff were really friendly, ambience of this pub is great we were sat upstairs on the outside balcony which was superb with heaters if it got chilly. We ordered the fish and chips and it was absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend, the other food which was being brought also look amazing"

"In collaboration with Cumbria Tourism, we had been lucky enough to be provided with tickets for some activities at Brockhole. Located a few miles from Bowness and on the way to Ambleside, Brockhole is an absolute gem of a day out for families. There is a real mix of activities on offer for all ages and although you have to pay for parking, there are lots of activities that are free to take part in (although you will be tempted by the abundance of activities on offer that you do need to pay for so be prepared!)."
