"Sometimes people just feel in the mood to go to and get a classic pizza. Woodstone Pizza and flame grill is definitely the place for that. It's a family friendly restaurant which supplies fabulous pizzas cooked in a stone hot oven and also offers steaks and burgers."
"Casual relaxed spot that serves BBQ meats, burgers, Kebabs and stone baked pizzas. Again, in high season this place can get busy. The handmade, stone baked pizzas are really good and it’s another that’s worth a visit."
"03/06/2021: We had booked - just as well as Ambleside heaving. Garlicky aroma oozing out of the doorway. Lovely friendly greeting and fabulous service through out the evening."
"A popular restaurant found in the heart of Ambleside, Dodd’s is open from noon ‘til late and welcomes guests for lunch, coffee and dinner in a relaxed environment. Known for its freshly prepared Mediterranean cuisine and friendly welcome, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal in Ambleside. "The Lake District National Park is famous for being home to the Romantic poets, especially Wordsworth. It is said to have provided inspiration for a lot of his poetry – looking around, it’s easy to see why. The entire landscape is peppered with perfect cottages, fields full of daffodils, rolling mountains, and dazzling lakes. The panoramas in The Lake District National Park will leave you hankering for more."
"The Lakes District is all shimmering lakes and craggy hilltops which attract over 15 million people each year. The Yorkshire Dales on the other hand is about the snaking rivers running though valleys of rolling green hills. It’s the perfect place to spend a few days stretching the muscle’s on a long walk or two."
"The poet William Wordsworth's most famous residence in the Lake District is undoubtedly Dove Cottage, but he actually spent a great deal more time at Rydal Mount, 1.5 miles northwest of Ambleside, off the A591. This was the Wordsworth family's home from 1813 until the poet's death in 1850 and the house contains a treasure trove of Wordsworth memorabilia. Bus 555 (and bus 599 from April to October) stops at the end of the drive."

"If you need a picnic spot, or just somewhere to relax in front of Windermere, Borrans Park is a public green space at the lake’s northernmost tip just west of Waterhead. The park merges with the greenery around the Roman fort, and there are benches facing the water so you watch the steamers coming and going, and take in natural splendour the lakeshore. Behind you to the north and northeast are the brooding high fells of the Central Lakeland."
"Borrans Park has magnificent views of Windermere lake and is easily accessed from the A591. There are the remains of a Roman road leading to the ruin of a Roman fort with historical interpretation information in the adjacent field. The large grassed recreation area has picnic tables and ample seating."

"Fear not, veggies: even in the land of the Cumberland sausage and the tattie hotpot (lamb, vegetable and potato stew), you won't go hungry thanks to Fellini's sophisticated 'vegeterranean' food."
"For a stay entrenched in the literary history of the area, look no further than Lindeth Howe, which was formerly owned by Beatrix Potter. It’s safe to say the house likely played a strong role in her ever-popular children’s books, which were often influenced by her own experiences and love for country life. Rooms harness the hotel’s storybook heritage with plaid fabrics, vaulted wooden ceilings and earthy tones."
"Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens, just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere. Locally sourced produce is served on the seasonal English menu in the 2 AA Rosette-awarded Lindeth Howe Restaurant. Homemade cakes and scones are also served in the Lindeth Howe Restaurant with fresh tea or coffee."
