Eating Out in Keswick

"The Lakes Aquarium on the southern shore of Windermere is ‘home to hundreds of amazing creatures, showcasing wildlife from the Lake District as well as more exotic species from around the world’. Children can access a quiz as they explore and there are a variety of different attractions such as tanks at different levels, a tunnel to walk ‘under the lake’ and our personal favourite, the leaf cutter ants…here you were able to watch a colony of ants in action as they transported food and leaves from one end of their tank to the other. The aquarium (like with many aquariums) can be a quick visit if you have a small person who tears from exhibition to exhibition but you can easily keep wandering back too."
"The Lakes Aquarium is situated next to our terminus at Lakeside Station, and boasts a huge collection of fish as well as other creatures great and small from rain forests around the world, including amphibians, reptiles, frogs, toads, chameleons, boa constrictors and cheeky Marmosets. The huge ‘Morecambe Bay’ marine tank brings you so close to Cod, Rays and British Sharks that you could actually reach out and touch them. From the underwater tunnel, you can see the incredible diving ducks and be stunned by the huge carp, sterlet and perch swimming right past your head!"

"Had a delicious panini with curly fries and there were lots of other options. Great spot for vegetarians like myself!. 28/05/2021: Great food."
"10/02/2021: Visited in September last year whilst we were camping in Ulswater. Toffee apple cake is just divine. Ended up going back every day whilst camping for breakfast."
"Highly recommend if you're in Ambleside as post walk replenishment. 20/06/2021: We just had one the best breakfast in there. Ordered takeaway as it was busy already and within 5 min we had a couple of bacon muffins."
"While I haven’t actually ever been to the Rheged Centre, I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things from my family about it. Its name reminding me somewhat of a Targaryen character from Game of Thrones, the Rheged Centre is home to a 6-storey high cinema screen, numerous shops, cafes and a huge outdoor activity centre for both children and adults to enjoy. It’s open all year round and is ideal for almost all weather conditions due to its indoor and outdoor facilities."
"On the eastern shore of Coniston Water, Brantwood was the cherished home of John Ruskin (1819–1900), the noted Victorian artist, writer,…"
"‘Top Coffee’ has got to be the highest accolade I can award, and wow these folks deserve it. Secreted away on one of Ambleside’s quiet streets, this externally humble cafe is home to my most highly regarded coffee of the lot. They delivered a strong coffee (on request), the beans of which having being sourced and roasted locally."
"A fairly new cafe in Ambleside, but quickly has become a firm favourite among locals and visitors. This cosy little cafe has cute decor and beautiful food. There are a few tables inside, dog friendly of course, and a little courtyard."
